d) Implemented Markets and Shopping Centres

KDA has so far constructed 5 Markets in Khulna, which play a vital role in the commercial sector in Khulna. These are:

• KDA New Market

• Rupsha Market

• Prantik Market

• Shiromoni Market

• Daulatpur (Kalpataru) Market.

There are 918 stalls in these markets.

e) Construction of Inter District Bus Terminal

Sonadanga Bus Terminal, the Inter District Bus Terminal which is the heart of the circulation system in the whole region is constructed by Khulna Development Authority in 1985 at the cost of Tk. 3.20 crore (32 million).

f) Construction of Community Centre

KDA has constructed a modern community centre having a total plinth area of 2900sft at the cost of Tk. 3.5 million

g) Welfare Project

Khulna Development Authority has implemented some public welfare projects like Passenger shed, Mosque, School and Monument. Among this, the monument over the grave of Bir Sheresto Ruhul Amin, one of the valiant freedom fighter of our Liberation War, 1971 is worth mentionable.
